In order to protect the world’s environment the collected used edible oil will be prepared for companies for conversion into biofuels. Biofuels compared to fossil fuels are a far less hazardous to human health and the environment. The continued use of fossil fuels threatens the world’s fragile eco system. Emissions from diesel engines contribute significant pollutants to the earth’s atmosphere.
The amount of cooking oil used in the United States is around 15-21 pounds, per person each year. The bulk of this oil is needlessly dumped by into sewer systems and landfills. This added burden on public treatment facilities requires costly modifications to accommodate these additional wastes.
Restaurants are required by law to organize for the collection of their used cooking oil. Used cooking oil is a valuable commodity that, once converted for alternative fuels, can help reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
